Rappor appoints water environment director
Engineering and environmental consultancy Rappor has appointed Chris Dodd as director to lead its water environment team.
Chris brings senior expertise in flood risk, sustainable drainage and environmental planning, with experience spanning residential, commercial, industrial and energy developments.
His project portfolio includes new settlements, Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, flood risk mitigation and river restoration schemes.
In his new role, Chris will lead Rappor's water environment team, advising clients on water management and environmental planning as climate resilience and increasingly demanding environmental requirements become a greater consideration for development.
He said: “In an era of heightened environmental scrutiny, water management is becoming the defining factor in advancing modern development.
“Water is no longer a problem to be pushed to the edge of a site or placed underground, it’s an increasingly scarce resource that should be used to enhance developments and create better places.
“Pushing beyond traditional drainage design and integrating this thinking at Rappor allows us to de-risk complex sites while delivering infrastructure that genuinely improves the natural environment.”
Headquartered in Cheltenham, Rappor employs around 100 people across eight UK offices and provides services spanning engineering, environmental, landscape and transport planning.
