Hospice rebrand honours pioneering founder
A Greater Manchester hospice has begun a new chapter with a new name and identity unveiled alongside its state-of-the-art facility.
Formerly St Ann’s Hospice, the charity has officially become Moya Cole Hospice, with Manchester-based creative agency Truth Creative delivering the rebrand.
The new Heald Green facility in Cheadle is now open, providing inpatient, outpatient and bereavement support for people affected by life-limiting illnesses across Greater Manchester.
Truth Creative worked with the hospice team to create an identity reflecting its heritage while supporting its future development.
The new name honours Dr Moya Cole OBE, who founded the hospice in 1971 and was a pioneering figure in radiotherapy and oncology.
Its branding has been incorporated throughout the new building, from signage and wayfinding to interiors, uniforms and other materials, creating a consistent experience for patients, families, staff, volunteers and visitors.
Truth’s involvement extended beyond the rebrand, with its PR team also supporting principal contractor Caddick Construction throughout delivery of the new facility.
The agency provided communications support during the construction programme, helping highlight the development and its importance to the local community.
Jo Scott, co-founder and managing partner at Truth Creative, said: “It has been a privilege to work with the team at Moya Cole Hospice on such a significant moment in its history.
“A rebrand of this scale is about much more than a new name or visual identity; it is about capturing what an organisation stands for and creating an identity to which people can connect.
“Being trusted to create a brand for an organisation as loved and respected as the hospice was a huge responsibility, and seeing the Moya Cole brand throughout the new facility is extremely rewarding.
“The new building provides an incredible setting for the brand, and together they create a strong sense of identity for the organisation’s next chapter.”
