Agency makes a splash with latest acquisition
A Yorkshire marketing agency has strengthened its creative capabilities and expanded its team with its second strategic deal of the year.
Mirfield-based Fishtank Agency has acquired Boom Marketing, with four members of the latter’s team joining the business as managing director Andrew Moore retires.
Founded by Andrew in 2013, Boom provides services spanning website and graphic design, signage and wider creative marketing.
During the past 13 years, it has built a client base across sectors including retail, manufacturing, distribution and blue-chip businesses, with customers throughout West Yorkshire and further afield in Wales, the North East and London.
The acquisition builds on an existing relationship between Andrew and Fishtank and follows continued investment by the agency in its team and performance marketing capabilities.
It also represents Fishtank’s second expansion move this year following its earlier merger with Wild PR.
Andrew said: “When I decided to retire, selling the business was never about completing a transaction.
“I felt a real responsibility to make sure our clients and our team would continue to be looked after and supported.
“After spending time with Damien and the rest of the Fishtank team, it became clear they shared the same values.
“For me, this was never about a sales agreement. It was about finding the right custodians for everything we have built.”
Damien Fisher, founder and managing director of Fishtank, says bringing the businesses together will provide clients with access to a larger team and broader expertise while retaining the personalised service offered by both agencies.
The deal also supports the agency’s ambitions to continue working with growing regional businesses while expanding its national client base.
Damien added: “We are incredibly excited for what we can achieve together.
“The additional expertise strengthens our creative capabilities, broadens our service offering, and creates new opportunities for both existing and future clients.”
