Bantams score carbon data partnership deal
A Yorkshire football club is putting sustainability in the spotlight through a three-year partnership that will allow supporters to track its matchday carbon footprint.
Bradford City AFC has partnered with real-time carbon data platform Dashe as it enters the next stage of its Greener Bantams strategy.
From the 2026/27 season, Dashe will measure emissions generated through energy, waste, travel, supply chains and matchday activity at Mbanq Valley Parade.
A live matchday carbon figure will then be published on Bradford City’s website, with the club and Dashe believing it will be the first English professional football team to provide supporters with such data.
Andrew Woodward, managing director of Dashe, said: “Bradford City have done the work.
“They’re not a club that needs to be told what sustainability looks like.
“What they want now is honest numbers, in real time, that they can put their name to.
“Our job is to make the matchday carbon figure as reliable as the attendance figure.”
The partnership moves Bradford City away from annual estimates based on spending towards measuring emissions as activity takes place.
It builds on existing sustainability initiatives including solar panels at the stadium and Kit Assist, which finds new homes for old playing kit.
Since 2025/26, the club has also planted a tree for every goal scored by its men’s and women’s first teams.
Bradford City Community Foundation launched its Greener Bantams Travel Hub in May, while the club won the EFL Environmental Award in April following a Silver award through the EFL Green Clubs scheme in 2025.
Further supporter and community initiatives are planned during the season.
Adam Keizer, head of commercial and sustainability at Bradford City AFC, added: “We’ve worked hard over the past few years to build something credible at this football club.
“Pushing further means being honest about the numbers, and showing our supporters and partners exactly what's happening rather than hoping nobody asks.
“That’s why we picked Dashe.
“They’re not here to tell us the story we'd like to hear about ourselves.
“They’re here to give us the actual data.”
