Seaham Hall makes national awards shortlist
A five-star County Durham hotel is in the running for a prestigious national spa award after becoming the North East’s only shortlisted venue.
Seaham Hall has been named among three finalists for AA Spa Hotel of the Year, part of the AA Spa and Hospitality Awards.
The accolade recognises hotels delivering exceptional wellness experiences, facilities and service.
Seaham Hall’s Serenity Spa has previously been named AA Best UK Spa in both 2023 and 2024, as well as Spa of the Year for Western Europe and Scandinavia at the 2022 World Spa and Wellness Awards.
Its latest recognition follows a £1 million transformation of the spa’s zen garden earlier this year.
The revamped outdoor space features two infinity-edge pools, a new cold plunge pool and an extended deck with firepits overlooking the landscaped gardens.
The investment was designed to strengthen the spa’s focus on wellbeing, nature and relaxation while enhancing the experience for guests.
Ross Grieve, managing director of Seaham Hall, said: “It's an honour to be shortlisted in the AA Spa and Hospitality Awards, particularly following the transformation of our outdoor Zen Garden which has been designed with restorative wellbeing at its heart.
“To be the only spa hotel in the North East shortlisted for the awards is a fantastic achievement and a real testament to our offering and the people behind it who offer an unparalleled experience for our guests day in and day out.”
