Wholesaler Kitwave expands North East HQ

A national wholesaler has strengthened its long-term commitment to the North East by expanding its headquarters to more than 163,000sq ft.

Kitwave Group has acquired an additional 28,484sq ft of warehouse space at Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate in North Shields, while agreeing a new lease on its existing 134,796sq ft base.

The transaction, completed under a new 15-year lease, was supported by Newcastle-headquartered property consultancy Bradley Hall, which advised Kitwave as tenant.

Anthony Cape, principal asset manager within Bradley Hall’s Lease Advisory & Rent Reviews department, advised on both the acquisition and regear of the existing lease.

He said: “This transaction represents an important milestone for Kitwave and demonstrates its long-term commitment to the North East.

“By securing additional accommodation alongside a regear of its existing headquarters, the business has created the flexibility and certainty needed to support its continued growth.

“It was a pleasure to advise Kitwave throughout the process and help deliver a solution that meets both its immediate operational requirements and future ambitions.”

The deal provides Kitwave – which recently acquired Charles Saunders Foodservice – with additional capacity to support its continued growth while securing the long-term future of its headquarters at the UK Land Estates-owned and operated estate.

Founded in 1987, Kitwave distributes fast-moving consumer goods including chilled, frozen and ambient products to more than 46,000 customers.

The business operates a nationwide network of 37 depots, around 650 delivery vehicles and a direct salesforce of approximately 300 people, serving independent and national retailers alongside wholesale, vending and foodservice customers.

The transaction is among several completed this year by Bradley Hall’s Lease Advisory & Rent Reviews department.

Launched in early 2026, the division provides property advice to occupiers, landlords and investors across areas including lease renewals, regears, rent reviews, acquisitions and disposals.
