Oktra appoints project development director

Workplace design and build company Oktra has appointed Nick Gibby as project development director as it continues to expand across the North.

Nick joins from JLL, where he spent seven years as a chartered surveyor specialising in office property across Leeds, Newcastle and Sheffield.

In his new role, he will focus on growing Oktra’s regional presence and strengthening relationships with tenants, landlords and property professionals.

Nick said: “I’m excited to be joining Oktra at a time when there is real opportunity across the Northern market.

“Having spent nine years working across the region, I’ve seen first-hand how the region is evolving, and I’m looking forward to helping businesses create workplaces that support their people and ambitions.”

Nick’s appointment comes four months after Philip Westwood joined as managing director of Oktra North, further expanding a team that now spans the Midlands, North West, Yorkshire and North East.

The business is looking to capitalise on growing demand for high-quality office space across Northern markets, supported by regional rental growth and new developments.

Oktra’s existing Northern portfolio includes workplace projects for Autotrader and Matillion in Manchester, alongside activewear brand DFYNE’s headquarters in Glasgow.

Philip Westwood, managing director of Oktra North, added: “There’s a real opportunity for Northern cities to shape the next generation of workplaces in a way that reflects the people, culture and economies of the places they serve.

“We’re seeing the value of regional expertise become increasingly clear, and Nick’s appointment strengthens our ability to bring that local knowledge into the projects we deliver.

“Local insight is incredibly valuable when it comes to understanding what businesses, communities and workforces need from the spaces they create.”
