PTSG appoints lean transformation director

Castleford-headquartered compliance specialist PTSG has appointed David Newcombe as director of lean transformation as it continues to invest in its operational capabilities.

David brings more than 30 years’ experience in operational excellence and business transformation across the aviation, automotive and biologics sectors.

He joins from Lonza Biologics, where he was head of operational excellence, strategic projects and PMO, and previously held several senior roles at Heathrow Airport.

Reporting to chief performance officer Alison Chard, David will focus on improving operational performance across the group, simplifying processes, increasing productivity and embedding continuous improvement.

His appointment follows PTSG’s acquisition of IDSL Group Holdings, which expanded its passive fire compliance capabilities and took its workforce to around 4000 people.

PTSG operates across five divisions, delivering more than 170 specialist services spanning access and safety, electrical services, building access, fire solutions and water treatment.

Alison Chard, chief performance officer at PTSG, said: “Scale brings opportunity, but it also places a premium on operational discipline.

“As PTSG continues to grow, we need to ensure that our systems and processes develop at the same pace.

“David has spent his career improving performance within large and complex organisations.

“His role will be about making PTSG simpler, faster, more consistent and more effective, while ensuring that improvement translates into better outcomes for our customers and sustainable value for the group.”
