SuperHeroes appoints creative director
Independent creative agency SuperHeroes has appointed AI creative specialist Quim Español as creative director, strengthening its creative leadership team.
Quim brings experience spanning creativity, technology and artificial intelligence, having previously served as associate creative director at adidas, creative director at Monks and partner creative director at CAAPSAI.
His career has also included roles with AKQA and Proximity Barcelona, alongside work for brands including Nike, Philips, KLM, Tommy Hilfiger, Audi and Volkswagen.
Reporting to chief executive Django Weisz Blanchetta, Quim will work across a range of clients and projects, exploring opportunities at the intersection of AI and creativity.
His remit will also include work connected to JIMMY, SuperHeroes’ talent management platform representing CGI and AI creators.
Quim said: “I believe small teams of highly talented people have a huge opportunity to embrace AI and explore the creativity and speed it can unlock, without compromising the craft.
“I want to make great work and new things: work that moves people, shapes culture, challenges conventions and builds brands. Most importantly, work that isn’t boring.”
Quim’s appointment forms part of the agency’s efforts to further embed AI within its creative processes and develop new ways of combining emerging technology with creative expertise.
Django Weisz Blanchetta, chief executive at SuperHeroes, added: “In our mission to save the world from boring advertising, we need to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to AI and creativity.
“Quim brings exactly the expertise, creative ambition and track record we were looking for.
“He’ll challenge us, our clients and our JIMMY artists to think differently and push the boundaries of what’s possible.
“We’re excited to have him on board.”
