Leonard Curtis launches Liverpool funding team

Professional services firm Leonard Curtis has launched a dedicated funding team in Liverpool with the appointment of Paul Sharpe as funding relationship manager.

Paul joins from Metro Bank and will work alongside structured debt manager Mike Dinnell and business advisory analyst Conor Jones to develop the new team.

He will work with Leonard Curtis colleagues, lenders, introducers and clients to connect businesses across Merseyside, Chester and North Wales with funding and advisory solutions.

Paul said: “Funding requirements vary significantly from one business to another, so understanding what a client is trying to achieve is an important part of finding the right solution.

“My role will be to work closely with businesses and our network of lenders and introducers to understand those requirements and bring the right people and expertise around the table.”

The launch forms part of Leonard Curtis’ national growth strategy and follows the establishment of a dedicated funding team in Birmingham in May.

Alison Taylor, Jas Mall and Ed Brown make up the Birmingham team, working alongside the firm’s existing operation to provide funding and advisory support to businesses across the Midlands.

The Liverpool expansion further strengthens Leonard Curtis’ regional funding capabilities as it continues to develop its presence across the UK.

Becky Owen, head of funding at Leonard Curtis, added: “Liverpool is a key market for Leonard Curtis and we see significant opportunity to build on the relationships and expertise we already have in the city.

“Bringing dedicated funding resource into our existing Liverpool office means we can offer businesses even greater access to the funding options available to them, while drawing on the wider expertise of the Leonard Curtis team.

“Paul is a great addition and I’m looking forward to seeing the team develop.”

Donna Crompton, director and head of Liverpool at Leonard Curtis, added: “Liverpool has a well-established Leonard Curtis team and a broad base of clients and professional contacts across the region.

“Adding dedicated funding expertise to that existing network strengthens the support we can offer from our Liverpool office and means funding can form part of a wider conversation when clients are dealing with growth, investment or financial challenges.”
