Supertri races ahead with Brighton triathlon deal
A global triathlon events operator is racing ahead with its UK expansion after acquiring one of the country’s largest multisport events.
London-headquartered Supertri has bought the Brighton & Hove Triathlon, which will be rebranded as Supertri Brighton from 2027.
It becomes the company’s second UK event alongside Supertri Blenheim Palace, strengthening a growing portfolio of short-course triathlons across Europe and North America.
This year’s Brighton & Hove Triathlon will take place under its existing name on September 6, with entries for the inaugural Supertri Brighton due to open shortly afterwards.
Staged along Hove Lawns and Brighton’s seafront promenade, the event has grown steadily since launching in the mid-2010s and sold out in both 2024 and 2025.
Its traffic-free course hosts Super-Sprint, Sprint and Olympic distances, alongside relay events and supporting races, attracting both first-time competitors and experienced athletes.
The event has previously been developed and delivered by TriBourne Multisport Events, with Supertri planning to announce further details about its future in the coming weeks.
Founded in 2017, Supertri runs mass-participation events at city and landmark locations, with its portfolio including Supertri Chicago and Supertri Blenheim Palace.
Its 2026 race model also brings professional and amateur athletes together at the same venues and on the same courses.
Michael D’hulst, chief executive and co-founder of Supertri, said: “Brighton is exactly the kind of event we love at Supertri – a fast, spectacular course, a brilliant atmosphere, and a community that has grown around it year after year.
“It’s already one of the best triathlons in the UK, and our job is to protect everything people love about it while giving athletes even more reason to line up.
“Adding a second UK event alongside Blenheim Palace is a big moment for us, and we can’t wait to welcome the Brighton community into the Supertri family in 2027.”
