Timothy Taylor’s raises glass to brand refresh

A Yorkshire family brewer has unveiled its first major brand refresh in more than a decade as part of a long-term investment in cask ale.

Keighley-based Timothy Taylor’s has introduced an updated logo, pump clips, glassware and bottles, alongside a new British racing green colour palette and updated beer descriptions.

The independent brewer says the new identity is designed to improve visibility at the bar and appeal to a new generation of drinkers while retaining the heritage built up over its 168-year history.

Its refresh forms part of wider investment in cask ale, including £9 million being spent on Timothy Taylor’s brewery over five years and £3 million annually on marketing.

Support for pubs is also continuing through a nationwide team of business development managers, alongside technical support, cellar training and the brewer’s Perfect Pour programme.

Timothy Taylor’s says its brewing methods and beers will remain unchanged as part of the rebrand.

The move comes as its flagship Landlord ale continues to grow, with the company describing it as the UK’s best-selling cask ale brand by both value and volume.

Andrew Carter, chief executive of Timothy Taylor’s, said: “For 168 years we've believed that if you brew great beer properly, people will keep coming back to it.

“That's why this refresh isn't about changing what we brew.

“The recipes, ingredients and brewing philosophy that have served us for generations remain exactly the same.

“It's about making sure the quality and care that go into every pint are reflected in how Timothy Taylor's is presented today, so we're just as relevant to the next generation of drinkers as we've been to the last.

“We'll continue to invest in our brewery, our people and our pub partners because great cask beer depends on every stage of the journey, from brewing to the moment it's poured. That commitment is every bit as important today as it's always been.”
