Fashion Week to put studios in spotlight

A new 24,000sq ft production and events venue is set to step into the spotlight as it hosts its first full-scale public showcase.

Campfield Studios, located within Manchester’s historic Upper Campfield Market Hall, will be launched as a standalone destination for external hire during Manchester Fashion Week, which runs from September 9 to 12.

Designed for media, content, broadcast, fashion, e-commerce and audio production, the venue includes a large central atrium beneath the building’s glass roof, complete with a large-format LED wall.

It also features a ground-floor production studio with interchangeable backdrops and professional lighting, an adjoining gallery and three daylight and production studios on the mezzanine.

Manchester Fashion Week will put the facilities to use across its four-day programme, with industry talks, workshops, pop-up shops, designer presentations, runway events and fashion photography shoots.

The event will feature names including designer and activist Katharine Hamnett, London Fashion Week pioneer Lynne Franks OBE, Manchester designer Mariusz Malon, fashion journalist Tamsin Blanchard and Great British Sewing Bee winner Luke-Matthew Iveson.

Gemma Gratton, executive producer of Manchester Fashion Week, said: “Campfield Studios gives us the flexibility we need to bring together fashion, technology, education and industry conversation within one distinctive setting.

“Our team is based at Campfield, too, so we know first-hand what it offers creative businesses.

“Hosting part of Manchester Fashion Week here feels like a natural extension of that relationship and an opportunity to show what can be created in the space.”

Campfield opened in 2025 as a technology, media and creative campus, but the fashion festival marks the first time its Studios offering has been formally showcased as a full-scale production and events destination.

Manchester Fashion Week’s team is also based at Campfield.

Clare Shutt, head of marketing at Campfield, added: “Manchester Fashion Week is the ideal way to introduce Campfield Studios because people can see the space doing what it was designed to do.

“It will be exciting to watch the venue transform across the week, hosting different audiences and formats that show just how adaptable the space can be.

“St. John's has always been at the heart of Manchester’s creative industries, and Campfield Studios is a new space for companies to host, experiment and create in.”
