Funeral director expands with Fulwell branch

A Sunderland funeral director has expanded its presence across the city with the opening of a fourth branch.

John G Hogg Funeral Directors has opened a new funeral home at 57–59 Sea Road Shops in Fulwell, extending its services north of the River Wear.

The branch, which opened on September 1, joins the family-run firm’s existing locations in Pallion, Hendon and Farringdon.

Its facilities include a chapel of rest, providing families in Fulwell and surrounding communities with a place to spend time with loved ones closer to home.

The new branch will be led by business principal John Hogg Snr, who has spent his working life in the funeral profession.

John said: “Having supported families in and around Sunderland for 35 years, we know how important it is for people to have somewhere local where they feel comfortable and cared for at what can be an incredibly difficult time. 

“We already serve many families who live north of the river, so opening in Fulwell means they now have a fitting and comforting place to visit their loved ones much closer to home.”

John G Hogg has supported families across Sunderland for 35 years, with the Fulwell expansion designed to make its funeral services and plans more accessible to communities in the north of the city.

Residents are also being invited to visit the new premises, meet the team and view its facilities.

John added: “We are very proud to bring the same high-quality premises, personal service and care that families know from John G Hogg to Sea Road and look forward to becoming part of the local community.”
