SBP takes ‘natural next step’ with new office

An accountancy and business advisory firm is expanding its presence in the North East of Scotland through a partnership with an established Aberdeenshire practice.

SBP Accountants & Business Advisers is joining forces with Inverurie-based BW Accounting, adding around 300 businesses and individuals to its client base.

BW Accounting’s office at 25A Market Street will become part of SBP, taking the firm’s network to five locations across the region alongside Aberdeen, Fraserburgh, Peterhead and Banff.

As part of the deal, BW Accounting founder Colin Webster will remain with the firm as client manager, providing continuity for existing clients while giving them access to SBP’s wider range of services.

Colin said: “Joining SBP is an exciting new chapter for the business and our clients. 

“It gives them access to a broader range of services and expertise while maintaining the local support and relationships they know and trust. 

“SBP shares our values and approach, making this the right fit for the future.”

The Inverurie team will be led by senior manager Rhys Jones, who joined SBP earlier this year and has more than 20 years’ finance and accountancy experience, including 14 years with Aberdeen-based Hall Morrice.

Clients will have access to services spanning accounts, bookkeeping, payroll, VAT and tax, alongside specialist business advice.

Founded in 1975, SBP has supported businesses and individuals across the North East of Scotland for more than 50 years and recently launched a refreshed brand under the proposition ‘Simplifying Business for People’.

The firm has also joined We Are Inverurie BID as it looks to strengthen links with the local business community.

Further recruitment is planned as the Inverurie operation grows, creating additional opportunities for local talent.
