Technical consultancy grows with capital office

A technical consultancy has strengthened its presence in London and the South East with the opening of its fifth office.

Multi-disciplinary MEC Consulting Group has established its new base at Percy House on Gresse Street in Fitzrovia, initially offering lighting, flood risk and drainage services.

The expansion builds on a growing portfolio of work across the capital and wider South East, including civils infrastructure design for Sunset Studios in North London, which is being developed as an advanced film production facility.

MEC has also supported the rewilding of Northwall Road at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and provided technical expertise for a proposed 26-apartment redevelopment in Sittingbourne, in Kent.

Other projects include work supporting the expansion of Hart Leisure Centre in Fleet with three new indoor padel courts.

The consultancy is also advising on a series of strategic land sites across Essex and Kent for longstanding client Richborough, which could deliver more than 1500 new homes.

Alongside opening its London base, MEC is continuing to develop relationships across the capital’s property and built environment sector as it looks to build its presence in the market.

Managing director Alex Bennett said: “The decision to launch in London has been driven by our organic growth.

“Whilst we already have a strong presence in Brighton, recent demand within London has accelerated significantly, so we were confident this move would allow us to better support clients both within the city and across the wider South East. 

“Following a record year of trading in 2025, the timing also felt right to build on that momentum and strengthen our profile in a key market. 

“Our London office is centrally positioned, offering improved accessibility and strong regional coverage for the next stage of our growth.”
