Tech recruitment agency opens Manchester office

A Leeds-based recruitment agency has expanded into Manchester as it steps up growth across international technology markets.

SPG Resourcing is opening an office in the city, which will initially focus on deep technology recruitment across areas including robotics and artificial intelligence.

The company has appointed Dylan Lancaster as divisional director to establish the operation and build a new Manchester team, while supporting expansion across the US, UAE and other international markets.

Dylan joins from Ace Partners and brings international recruitment experience, including four years spent building recruitment operations in Dubai before returning to the UK.

He said: “Deep technology companies are competing for people with very specific skills, and that competition is international. 

“A robotics or AI business in the US may need to look well beyond its local market to find the right person, which creates an opportunity for recruiters with genuinely international networks.

“I spent four years building recruitment business in Dubai and wanted my move back to the UK to be an opportunity to build again. 

“SPG Resourcing has the ambition to grow internationally and the freedom to go after those markets.

“Manchester is a great place to do that from. 

“It has a strong technology and investment community, but our client base will not be defined by geography. 

“We will be working with VCs and their portfolio companies in the US, alongside businesses in the UAE and other international markets.”

A key focus will be developing relationships with venture capital firms investing in US technology businesses, giving SPG Resourcing opportunities to work with start-ups as they recruit specialist technical and leadership teams.

The Manchester launch forms part of wider investment in specialist markets by SPG Resourcing as it looks to capitalise on growing demand for highly skilled talent.

It follows the recent launch of a dedicated life sciences practice as the business continues to broaden its sector expertise and international reach.
