Housebuilder starts work on 484-property schemes

A housebuilder has started work on 484-home schemes.

Bellway has broken ground on three Mansfield developments.

The firm says the ventures will deliver 314 private sale properties and 170 affordable homes.

The schemes, known as Berry Hill Vale, Berry Hill Lea and Genesis at Berry Hill, will form part of a wider Lindhurst neighbourhood on the edge of the Nottinghamshire town.

Steve Smith, East Midlands sales director at Newcastle-headquartered Bellway, said: “Our plans are the culmination of several years of planning, so we are now pleased to be starting work on site.

“These three developments form the second phase of our work within the wider Lindhurst neighbourhood, where we previously built 146 homes at Berry Hill, and demonstrate our commitment to building the homes that are needed in Mansfield.”

The wider Lindhurst masterplan includes up to 1700 homes, a primary school, shops, community facilities and public open space.
