Pet retailer sniffs out growth with new store

A pet supplies retailer has expanded with a store opening.

Jollyes has launched a base in Seaham, County Durham.

Bosses say the Byron Place Shopping Centre venture has created seven jobs.

The store was officially opened by Seaham mayor Councillor Milford Lingard, who cut a red ribbon alongside canine guests including retired police dogs Ulrich and Pip.

Janet Long, store manager, said: “We’re delighted to become part of the Seaham community.

“Creating seven jobs is a fantastic way to start, and we’re looking forward to welcoming customers and playing an active role in the community for years to come.”

Officials say the firm will build on its County Durham expansion with openings in Sheffield, Mansfield and Dunfermline later this year.
