Roomex appoints product management VP

Corporate travel businesses Corpay Lodging and Roomex have appointed Fritz Oberhummer as vice president of product management as they increase investment in workforce travel technology.

Fritz brings more than 15 years of experience across travel technology, product leadership, commercial strategy and platform transformation.

He joins from Sabre, where he most recently led strategic solution architecture across EMEA, focusing on airline and lodging distribution alongside AI and agentic technologies.

His career has also included senior product and commercial leadership roles with Intellias, HRS and Expedia Group.

Reporting to Corpay Lodging chief product officer Chris Kramer, Fritz will also join Roomex president Keith Watson’s extended leadership team.

He will help shape the future development of the workforce travel platform and its product strategy, with a particular focus on using AI, data and customer feedback to develop technology around the needs of businesses with mobile workforces.

Fritz said: “Travel technology is moving fast, particularly as AI creates new opportunities to make platforms more intelligent and responsive to the people using them. 

“I want to apply that thinking to workforce travel, where customers have very specific operational needs that aren’t typically well served by broader travel technology.

“I’m looking forward to working with Chris, Keith and the wider team to build on what Corpay Lodging and Roomex already does well, while using data, technology and direct customer feedback to shape where the product goes next.”

Fritz’s appointment adds further travel technology expertise as Roomex continues to evolve its offering, which combines workforce accommodation booking with discounted rates, expense management and real-time visibility of travel spending.

Keith added: “Fritz’s experience across the biggest technology and travel businesses shows he understands the opportunities emerging from AI and the practical challenges customers need technology to solve. 

“This appointment shows Roomex are continuing to invest in technology around the realities of workforce travel, and Fritz will play a central role in shaping that product strategy and making sure we stay ahead of what our customers need.”
