Drees & Sommer expands leadership team

Construction, real estate and infrastructure consultancy Drees & Sommer UK has appointed Julian Henley as director of infrastructure as it continues to grow its UK and Ireland business.

Birmingham-based Julian brings more than 30 years of consultancy experience across government, defence, housing, regeneration, water, waste and industrial sectors.

His career has also included a focus on business development, innovation and strategic growth.

In his new role, Julian will lead the development of Drees & Sommer UK’s social and technical infrastructure growth strategy across the UK and Ireland.

His remit will include developing key client relationships, strategic frameworks and partnerships and major project opportunities.

He will also work closely with Drees & Sommer’s international teams to bring wider global expertise to clients across the UK and Ireland.

Julian said: “Drees & Sommer has strong international capability and a clear ambition to grow its presence in the UK infrastructure market. 

“That gives us a real opportunity to build something distinctive, based on strong client relationships, capable people and consistently first-rate delivery.

“My focus will be on turning that opportunity into practical action. 

“This includes developing our framework and strategic partner relationships, broadening the support we provide to infrastructure clients, taking a central role in the industry’s conversation, and bringing together the right expertise from across the UK and the wider Drees & Sommer group.

Julian’s appointment forms part of continued investment in the consultancy’s senior leadership as it expands its infrastructure capabilities and market presence.

It follows the appointments of James Ryan and Graeme Fraser as associate partners and members of the UK board, adding further senior experience to the growing business.
