Tile specialist returns to Newcastle roots

A tile specialist has returned to its Newcastle roots with a new trade-focused store designed to provide greater choice and convenience for tradespeople and housebuilders.

CTD has opened the branch at Airport Industrial Estate, marking a return to an area where the brand has longstanding connections.

The opening was celebrated with a trade event featuring product demonstrations, advice and suppliers from across the industry.

Designed as a one-stop destination for professional tradespeople, the branch features CTD’s largest in-store tile range, including wall and floor tiles, XL and XXL formats, outdoor tiles and shower panels.

A wide selection of tools, materials and other trade essentials is also held in stock, helping customers source everything they need for a project in one place.

The existing team at the site has also been retained, providing customers with continuity alongside its established local knowledge and experience.

Sam Bucknall, managing director of CTD, said: “Newcastle has always been an important area for CTD, so we’re incredibly pleased to be back and welcoming customers through the doors of this new store.

“We know there is a strong tiling and housebuilding community across Newcastle and the wider North East, and we’ve designed the branch around what those customers need: great products, plenty of choice, competitive value, strong stock availability and knowledgeable people who can help them get what they need for the job.

“It’s particularly exciting to be returning to an area that has such a strong connection with CTD.

“The new store brings together that heritage with the direction we’re taking the business today, creating a modern, trade-focused experience while retaining the personal service and expertise our customers value.”

The Newcastle opening builds on a trade-focused store concept introduced by CTD in Minworth earlier this year, placing greater emphasis on accessibility, product choice and stock availability.

Located alongside a number of home improvement and trade businesses, the Airport Industrial Estate branch is positioned to serve Newcastle’s tradespeople and housebuilders.
