Design specialist delivers Elland Road revamp

A Yorkshire design specialist has scored a major football fit-out project after transforming around 30,000sq ft of hospitality, corporate and player facilities ahead of the new Premier League season.

Leeds-based Design Tonic has completed a multi-million-pound programme of works for Leeds United across Elland Road and the club’s Thorp Arch training ground.

The projects include a new 20,000sq ft temporary hospitality marquee at Elland Road while plans progress for the redevelopment of the West Stand.

Featuring four individual suites with capacity for around 1000 guests, the facility has been designed to maintain the standard of the club’s permanent premium hospitality spaces.

Design Tonic, which is an official Leeds United Business Club Partner, has also created a new Presidents Lounge and Chairman’s Guest Lounge, alongside refurbishing the club’s reception and boardroom.

Work has extended to Thorp Arch, where the company has delivered a new Academy canteen and boot room, as well as refurbishing the players’ canteen.

Design Tonic co-founder Amanda Cook said: “Our relationship with Leeds United has developed over seven years, so we have a strong understanding of the club, its brand and the expectations of its guests, players and staff.

“Each of these new spaces have been designed to create a consistent sense of quality across the Leeds United estate, and we are very pleased with the final result.

“I’m also immensely proud of our team and the hard work that has gone into delivering such a significant programme of works in a short timescale.”

The projects build on Design Tonic’s longstanding relationship with Leeds United and have been delivered through its specialist DT Sports division.

Established in 2018, Design Tonic works across the hospitality, office, retail and leisure sectors, with DT Sports launched in 2024 to support its growing portfolio of sports projects.

Mark Broadley, head of IT and facilities at Leeds United Football Club, added: “Design Tonic has become a trusted partner to Leeds United.

“They understand both the operational requirements of a football club and the importance of ensuring every environment feels unmistakably Leeds United.

“This has been a particularly important project for us, supporting the next stage of development at Elland Road while ensuring our hospitality guests continue to receive a high-quality experience.

“At the same time, the improvements at Thorp Arch enhance the everyday environments available to our players and Academy.

“The completed spaces look fantastic and provide an excellent platform as the club starts the new Premier League season.”
