Furniture supplier makes room for growth

A North East furniture supplier is making room for expansion after recording a 40 per cent rise in revenue and setting its sights on £3.5 million turnover.

Blaydon-based HLF, which supplies contract-standard furniture to hotels, serviced apartments and holiday parks, is building on its tenth anniversary with further investment in its workforce, distribution fleet and property.

The company has created several roles, including a new account manager to support larger customers, with plans to add vehicles to its fleet and acquire a new North East warehouse as demand grows.

HLF was founded in 2016 by Rachel Conroy after she identified an opportunity to supply commercial-grade furniture directly from factories to trade customers.

Growth has been particularly strong across the serviced apartment and holiday park markets, with the business securing partnerships with booking platforms, lodge manufacturers and park operators.

Its customers include Hoseasons, Landal, Parkdean Resorts and Center Parcs.

Rachel said: “Investment in extra capacity and warehousing will also allow the company to develop and expand further the commercial turnkey design and support services it provides.”

The company is now aiming to build on its recent momentum despite wider pressures across the furniture and leisure sectors, with new partnerships expected to support its next phase of expansion.

Rachel added: “Over the last decade, we have seen turbulent economic times but have grown the business to become one of the furniture sector’s leading suppliers.

“We will continue to make the investments needed to support our customers and provide them with the highest quality products at competitive prices.”
