Port of Tyne appoints trio to board

Port of Tyne has appointed Ann Cormack MBE, Sarat Pediredla and Mark Simpson to its board, adding experience across international business, technology, logistics and organisational transformation.

Ann has held senior leadership roles with Shell, the UK Government, Rolls-Royce and De Beers Group and currently holds several non-executive positions.

Sarat is a North East technology entrepreneur who co-founded Newcastle-based digital consultancy Hedgehog Lab, growing it from a two-person start-up to around 150 employees during 19 years at the business.

He recently launched AI-focused digital product studio LevelFive and is also a non-executive director at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

Mark brings more than 30 years of retail, logistics and technology experience, including more than 25 years at ASDA, where he spent five years on its executive committee.

The trio will bring additional expertise to the board as Port of Tyne continues to invest in its operations and infrastructure.

Their appointments support the Port’s wider plans around sustainable growth, innovation and the development of a greener, smarter operation.
