Saffery welcomes 13 Leeds trainees

Accountancy and business advisory firm Saffery has welcomed 13 new trainees to its Leeds office as it continues to invest in developing young talent.

The new recruits include graduates, school leavers and apprentices and will work across the firm’s audit and assurance, tax and accounts teams.

They are Timothy Cottrill, Francesca McBride, Martha Hodgson, Oliver Bastain, Joseph Rogers, Kayleigh Whitfield, Lucy Healy, Ruby Cordall, Harley Swales, Jonathan Sreeves, Thomas Smith, Ella Minogue and Jonathan Craigen.

Each will follow a structured qualification pathway combining professional study with practical experience.

Kathryn Gomme, head of learning and development at Saffery, said: “Whether joining as a graduate, school leaver, apprentice, intern or placement student, our aim is to provide individuals with the skills, experience and support they need to build successful careers. 

“By combining professional qualifications, hands-on client work and access to programmes such as our new Saffery Kickstart Programme, we’re helping to create a strong pipeline of future talent for our business and our clients.”

The Leeds recruits form part of a wider intake of 144 trainees set to join Saffery across its UK and Dublin offices during the 2026/27 financial year.

The firm currently supports 347 trainees working towards accountancy, audit and tax qualifications.

Saffery is also investing in opportunities for people considering careers in professional services, with two interns joining its Leeds office this summer.

They are taking part in the firm’s new Kickstart Programme, which combines technical training, emerging topics including AI and wider professional skills development.
