S&W expands business tax team
Professional services group S&W has appointed Karim Budabuss and Philippe Gamito as partners as it continues to expand its business tax practice.
Karim joins the firm’s R&D tax incentives team from ForrestBrown, bringing more than 14 years’ experience spanning engineering, innovation incentives and location strategy consulting.
His expertise includes helping businesses access grants and public funding, optimise innovation incentives and make strategic decisions around investment and international expansion.
Philippe joins S&W’s indirect tax team from Baker McKenzie and has more than 15 years’ experience advising financial services businesses across Europe, including in Belgium, France and the UK.
He specialises in VAT across financial services, insurance and crypto, with experience supporting clients on cross-border operations, restructuring projects and complex international transactions.
Karim and Philippe’s appointments broaden S&W’s capabilities in areas of growing client demand as the group continues to invest in specialist tax expertise.
Their arrival also adds further senior experience to its business tax practice as S&W expands its support for businesses navigating an increasingly complex tax landscape.
Mark Webb, head of business tax at S&W, said: “These appointments reflect our continued investment in building a market-leading business tax practice.
“Karim and Phillippe enhance our ability to provide high-quality, specialist advice to entrepreneurial, private equity-backed and international businesses with increasingly complex challenges.
“Our ambition is to build the UK’s leading adviser to entrepreneurial and mid-market businesses.
“Karim and Phillippe are outstanding additions to the team whose expertise broadens our capabilities and enhances the quality of advice we provide to clients.
“Their appointments are another important step in the continued growth of our business tax practice.”
