Cross Rental Services names new chief executive

Equipment rental specialist Cross Rental Services has appointed Matt Parker as chief executive as it continues its expansion across the UK and Ireland.

Matt, who joined the business as UK managing director in 2024, succeeds Graeme Nesbitt, who moves into the role of board director and strategic advisor after almost seven years as chief executive.

The planned transition follows double-digit year-on-year revenue growth during 2026, with Matt having overseen investment in equipment, people and infrastructure across the UK operation.

Matt said: “Cross Rental Services has a strong reputation, exceptional people and significant opportunities ahead. 

“Our focus will be on building on the expertise that exists across the Group, investing in engineering capabilities and continuing to develop specialist solutions that help our customers operate in some of the most demanding environments.” 

The company has also appointed Russell Harrison as chief financial officer.

Russell qualified with PwC and has held senior roles at New Look, including group finance director, before becoming chief financial officer and chief operating officer at Hobbycraft.

He joins from Churches Fire & Security and brings experience supporting multi-site, private equity-backed organisations.

Russell added: “Cross Rental Services has ambitious plans and strong foundations, making this an exciting time to join. 

“My focus is on supporting the delivery of the Group’s strategy and ensuring we continue to invest in the things that matter to support long-term growth.” 

The leadership changes come as Cross Rental Services continues investing in acquisitions, its fleet and operational capabilities, alongside expanding its depot network with new sites in Warrington and Birmingham.
