Wealth at Work names new chief executive
Workplace financial education, guidance and advice provider Wealth at Work, headquartered in Liverpool, has appointed Mark Duckworth as its new chief executive.
Mark will take up the role on December 1, succeeding David Cassidy, who has led the business since its inception in 2004.
He brings more than 30 years’ financial services experience and has previously served as chief executive of Schroders Personal Wealth and Openwork.
During his time at Schroders Personal Wealth, Mark oversaw growth across the business, which recorded £101 million in profit in 2025 and grew to more than 300 advisers serving around 60,000 clients.
Mark said: “I am delighted to be joining Wealth at Work as chief executive to build on the outstanding platform that David and the team have created.

“With demand for trusted guidance and advice continuing to grow, Wealth at Work is exceptionally well positioned to support employers and individuals at scale.
“I look forward to working with the board, the management team, colleagues and clients to continue developing the business to broaden access to financial education, guidance and advice, and deliver great outcomes for clients.”
Mark’s joins Wealth at Work as the company looks to build on its growth and broaden access to financial advice.
Under David’s leadership, the business has grown to provide workplace financial education to millions of employees across more than 700 employers, including Marks & Spencer, BT, Centrica and the NHS.
It also advises individual clients and manages more than £4.5 billion of assets, supported by over 100 employed advisers.
Chief financial officer Stuart Payne will serve as interim chief executive until Mark takes up the role in December, helping oversee the leadership transition.
Following Mark’s arrival, Stuart will move into an expanded position as chief financial and operations officer.
In the newly combined role, he will work alongside Mark and the wider leadership team, with the new structure designed to streamline decision-making and support Wealth at Work’s future growth plans.
David Gagie, chairman of Wealth at Work, added: “Mark is an outstanding appointment for Wealth at Work, combining deep sector expertise, a proven track record of scaling businesses, and a clear view of how technology will continue to help transform the Wealth at Work offering.
“The board is grateful to David for his vision and stewardship, which leaves the business in a strong position as the need for workplace financial wellbeing, particularly at retirement, continues to grow.”
