Blue Light Card names finance chief
Discounts and rewards platform Blue Light Card has appointed Martin Kvist as chief financial officer as it continues to invest in its growth.
Martin joins from surplus food marketplace Too Good To Go, where he served as group chief financial officer and helped scale the international business to profitability.
He previously spent almost 15 years at European payments business Nets, holding a number of senior finance leadership roles and building experience across technology, payments and international operations.
Martin said: “I am truly delighted to be joining Blue Light Card.
“It is incredibly rare to find a business with such a meaningful mission – delivering real, daily value to those who serve our communities while being backed by such strong business fundamentals.
“Meeting Alidad, Vicky and the executive team made it clear to me that Blue Light Card is a very special place.
“I am convinced we have an exceptional strategy and a fantastic group of people to deliver our next chapter of growth.
“I’ve seen first-hand how a clear purpose and strong commercial foundations can work together to create sustainable growth and meaningful impact.
“I’m looking forward to bringing that experience to Blue Light Card and helping the business realise the significant opportunity ahead."
Martin succeeds Vicky Norrish, who leaves Blue Light Card after almost six years as chief financial officer.
His appointment comes as Blue Light Card continues investing in its technology, product, partnerships and people.
The business now serves more than six million members across the emergency services, NHS, social care, education and armed forces, and partners with more than 15,000 brands.
Members saved a record £560 million through the platform during the past 12 months.
Alidad Moghaddam, chief executive at Blue Light Card, added: “Martin brings exactly the combination of experience we need for our next stage of growth.
“He has helped scale an international, purpose-led business to profitability and understands how strong financial foundations can enable ambitious, sustainable growth.
“Blue Light Card has built a strong, purpose-powered business serving more than six million members.
“Our model is designed so that commercial success and delivering meaningful value for our members go hand in hand.
“As we continue to grow, our focus is on building on those strong foundations – investing in our platform and proposition, creating even greater value for verified members and partners, and continuing to prove that a business built on genuine purpose can also deliver sustainable commercial growth.
“Martin will play an important role in helping us deliver that next chapter.”
