Blythe Valley promotes centre manager

Solihull-based innovation hub Blythe Valley Innovation Centre has promoted Daisy Askill to centre manager as it prepares for further investment in its facilities.

Daisy steps up after serving as assistant centre manager since January 2024, during which time she has supported tenants across the centre with a range of administrative matters.

In her new role, she will take overall responsibility for the centre’s operations, supporting existing tenants while helping attract new innovative businesses to its growing community.

Daisy said: “It's a real privilege to become centre manager at a place that has become so important to me over the last year and a half.

“One of the things I've always loved about Blythe Valley Innovation Centre is the welcoming atmosphere we've built with our tenants.

“Every business is different, so taking the time to understand what they need and helping them feel supported is something I’m keen to continue.

“I’m looking forward to welcoming new businesses into the centre and ensuring that everyone here continues to receive the personal service that makes the Innovation Centre such a special place to work.”

Daisy’s appointment comes as Solihull Council, which owns Blythe Valley Innovation Centre, and operator the University of Warwick Science Park progress plans for further investment in the site.

Proposed improvements include new collaborative ‘Creative Commons’ spaces featuring writable walls, a digital concierge service and enhanced facilities designed to encourage meetings, collaboration and business growth.

Mark Tock, chief operations officer at the University of Warwick Science Park, added: “Daisy has made a fantastic impression since joining the team and has become a trusted face for our tenants.

“She prides herself on excellent customer service and creating a positive experience for every business based at the centre.

“Her promotion is thoroughly deserved, and I'm confident she will continue to build on the strong reputation Blythe Valley Innovation Centre has developed.”

Councillor Dave Pinwell, Solihull Council portfolio holder, resources, added: “I would like to congratulate Daisy on her well-deserved appointment to centre manager at Blythe Valley Innovation Centre.

“Since joining the team, she has played an important role in supporting our tenant businesses and helping to foster the collaborative and welcoming environment that makes the centre such a valuable asset for Solihull.

“Daisy’s knowledge of the centre and dedication to providing excellent support will help ensure it continues to thrive, while the planned refurbishment of the reception area and the introduction of new facilities will further strengthen the centre’s position as a hub for innovation excellence.
