Azets appoints VAT partner

Accountancy firm Azets has appointed Meera Rajah as VAT partner and head of South East Asia business amid growing demand for its tax services.

Meera will split her time between the firm’s London and Beaconsfield offices, with responsibility for driving new business across the South East and supporting inward investment from South East Asia.

She joins from James Cowper Kreston, where she was a partner and also led its South East Asia business team.

Meera brings 29 years’ experience in VAT, with her career also including roles at global tax services firm Ryan, the Benefits Agency and HM Revenue and Customs.

Her expertise spans business restructuring and mergers and acquisitions, VAT cost reduction strategies, international cross-border supply chains and land and property transactions.

She also advises on partial exemption methods, film production, charities and wider VAT planning.

“I have built up an extensive technical knowledge over more than 29 years' specialising in VAT, and I take a practical approach to my job.

“This has enabled me to successfully argue against HMRC to achieve substantial VAT savings and compensation for clients.
