Belmayne welcomes trainee planner
Dronfield-based independent financial planning firm Belmayne has appointed Greg McMillan as a trainee financial planner as it continues to invest in developing homegrown talent.
Greg becomes the firm’s second trainee and will develop his knowledge of retirement and wealth planning while working towards his professional qualifications.
He is being mentored by Belmayne managing partner Martin Birch, who will support him as he works towards his Chartered Insurance Institute diploma.
As part of the role, Greg will liaise with Martin’s clients and assist with preparations for review meetings, gaining practical experience alongside his studies.
He joins Belmayne having worked in both administrative and customer-facing positions since completing his degree eight years ago.
Most recently, Greg worked in product manufacturing and quality assurance for a Sheffield-based sustainable asphalt manufacturer.
Greg said: “It has been my goal to enter the financial sector for the last couple of years and I have been actively pursuing professional qualifications, whilst trying to find a foot in the door.
“When the opportunity arose to meet Martin, I could see working and training at Belmayne would be fantastic.
“The whole team has made me feel very welcome and I’m really looking forward to learning more about how client journeys are structured.”
Greg’s arrival forms part of Belmayne’s continued commitment to developing the next generation of financial planning professionals.
Martin added: “Training financial planners ‘the Belmayne way’ is part of our long-term growth plans and we’re happy to welcome Greg on that journey.
“At our initial meeting, he impressed us with his enthusiasm and knowledge of the industry and he’s continued to show initiative and drive since joining us fulltime.
“He has excellent communication and client service skills and I’ve no doubt he will make a great financial planner.”
