Investment firm boosts book with six-figure move
An investment firm has expanded its portfolio with a six-figure deal.
Growth Capital Ventures has backed Valius.
Bosses say the move marks “an important step in the development and growth” of the tech business.
Founded by Paul Griffiths and Andrew Botham, Valius acts as an SME marketplace that helps operators buy and sell companies.
Established in 2015 by brothers Craig and Norm Peterson, Growth Capital Ventures, based in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, boasts a portfolio spanning sectors including banking, fintech, software and technology.
The investment was supported by its GCV Invest-branded private investor network, which previously backed businesses including digital bank Atom and Intelligence Fusion.
Chief executive Norm said: “One of the strengths of our model is its ability to support founders throughout their growth journey, and Valius is a strong example of that approach in action.
“The company is addressing a genuine market need and has a clear vision for how technology can improve the SME acquisitions landscape.”
He added Valius will work with Growth Capital Ventures’ GCV Labs-branded venture-building division to boost product development and wider growth plans.
Paul, Valius founder, added: “Buying a business remains one of the most effective routes into entrepreneurship and business ownership, yet the process has changed very little over the years.
“Our aim is to make it easier for serious buyers to discover quality opportunities and engage with the market more efficiently.
“This investment represents an important step in the development and growth of the business.”
