Tembo strengthens product team
Mortgage and savings platform Tembo, headquartered in London, has appointed two senior figures to its product team as it continues to develop services helping customers save for, buy and refinance homes.
Alex Giorgi-Coll joins as lead product designer, bringing 18 years’ experience developing consumer products and services across businesses including John Lewis & Partners, insurtech Napo and Naked Wines.
He will focus on customer behaviour, product strategy and design to help simplify the experience of using Tembo’s products.
Alex said: “I am delighted to be joining the Tembo team.
“We hold such a direct relationship with our customers.
“Every week we speak to thousands of people, helping them to tackle one of life’s biggest milestones: finding a place to call home.
“I see so much opportunity, and am excited to roll my sleeves up and continue designing products that are uncovering new possibilities for homebuyers and owners in the UK.”
Meanwhile, Liam Mayoux-Andrews has been appointed senior product manager, mortgages, bringing more than a decade of financial technology experience.
Liam began his fintech career at consumer finance platform Divido, now NatWest Boxed, where he helped scale the business to more than 500 partners.
He later spent five-and-a-half years at Funding Xchange, leading product strategy and client delivery for lending technology used by major banks and brokers.
At Tembo, Liam will apply that experience to developing the company’s mortgage proposition and helping customers find routes to homeownership.
Liam added: “I’ve spent my career scaling lending technology, and I’m excited to bring that to Tembo at such an important stage of its growth.
“Buying a first home is one of the biggest financial steps people take, and I’m looking forward to building mortgage products that make that journey simpler for more people.”
Richard Dana, founder and chief executive of Tembo, added: “As Tembo continues to grow, we’re delighted to welcome two highly experienced product leaders to the team.
“Alex and Liam bring decades of combined experience building and scaling products, and their appointments will help us go further, faster in our mission to make home happen for more people in the UK.”
