Agency serves up trio of new client wins

A Leeds-based communications agency has served up a trio of client wins as it continues to grow its portfolio across the food, health and lifestyle sectors.

Aubergine has been appointed by plant-based food brand One Planet Pizza, nutrition business The Organic Protein Co and Leeds-based consultant urologist Dr Patrick Gordon.

The agency, led by former journalists Emma Gardner and Verity Clarke, will deliver PR, content and social media campaigns for the three clients.

Its work with One Planet Pizza will focus on raising the profile of co-founder Joe Hill and supporting the launch of a new range of vegan ready meals developed exclusively for Asda.

Joe Hill, co-founder of One Planet Pizza, said: “We’re really excited to be working with Aubergine at such an important point in One Planet Pizza’s ten-year journey.

“Their journalist-led approach really stood out to us, as well as their award-winning FMCG expertise.

“They understand what makes a story genuinely interesting to the media, rather than simply putting a product in front of journalists.

“We’re looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together over the coming months.”

Meanwhile, Organic Protein Co has appointed Aubergine on an ongoing retained basis, with the agency supporting the launch of a new product range alongside thought leadership covering protein, menopause and GLP-1s.

Nikki Bearman, project coordinator for The Organic Protein Co, added: “Protein is such an important part of the conversation around health and nutrition right now, but there’s still a lot of confusion about how much we actually need and how that changes at different stages of life.

“We’re really enjoying working with Aubergine, and have already been impressed with their proactivity in bringing the protein conversation in front of a wider audience.”

And Aubergine will support Dr Gordon with social media strategy, content creation and profile raising.

The agency is developing an approach designed to make specialist urology topics more accessible online while highlighting Dr Gordon’s expertise across areas including men’s health, fertility and testosterone.

Dr Gordon said: “Urology covers some incredibly important issues, but they’re not always the easiest subjects for people to talk about or understand.

“I wanted to find a way to use social media to break down some of those barriers and share useful, accurate information in a way that feels approachable and engaging.

“Aubergine immediately understood that I didn’t want to create overly clinical content – I want people to get to know the person behind the expertise too.

“I’m also thrilled that Aubergine helped me fulfil a lifelong dream – to write a piece for Yorkshire Life magazine themed around Movember.”

Emma, who is a former BBC and Channel 4 News journalist, added: “We’re really excited to be working across such a brilliant mix of food and health brands.

“On the face of it, pizza, protein and urology might not have much in common, but these brands and individuals all have head-turning stories worth sharing.

“Our background as journalists means we’re always looking for the strongest angles behind a brand, product or expert, and then finding the right way to bring them to life through PR, social and content creation.

“These three wins are a great example of the kind of work we love doing!”
