Rental association appoints regional chair

Rental sector membership body the Association for Rental Living has appointed Richard Frudd as chair of its North East and Yorkshire Hub.

Richard, a senior planning director at Quod, succeeds Glide UK’s Paul Beattie and will serve alongside existing vice chair Dan Asquith of BRE.

He brings more than 25 years’ experience working on large-scale residential, commercial and regionally strategic developments.

In his new role, Richard will lead the regional hub’s work on local advocacy and government engagement, as well as raising awareness of the role Build to Rent can play in addressing housing challenges across the North East and Yorkshire.

He said: “I am grateful for the opportunity to lead the Hub into its next chapter following the brilliant work of Paul and Dan to get it established and thriving.

“We look forward to engaging with our peers across the public and private sectors to contribute to the ongoing success and growth of rental living in the region.”

The Association for Rental Living represents institutionally backed, professionally managed purpose-built rental living sectors.

Its North East and Yorkshire Hub will hold its Winter Seminar and Social on November 26, bringing together members and other industry professionals for market insights and networking.

Brendan Geraghty, chief executive of the Association for Rental Living, added: “We are delighted that Richard will lead the next phase of the Hub’s valuable work, with education, networking and events all contributing to the success and growth of the residential living sector in the North East and Yorkshire.

“The Association for Rental Living would also like to thank outgoing chair Paul Beattie of Glide for his extensive work in founding the Hub back in 2024, which came at a key moment for Build to Rent schemes in the region.”
