RG promotes tax specialist
North of England-based business advisory firm Ryecroft Glenton has promoted Emma Harrison to senior manager in recognition of her growing role within its tax team.
Emma joined RG’s accounts and business services team as an assistant in September 2019 after completing a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
She subsequently completed the combined ACA and CTA professional qualifications, becoming both a chartered accountant and chartered tax adviser.
Emma progressed to senior in January 2023 and manager in October 2024 before securing her latest promotion this month.
In her role, she manages a portfolio of clients, supports colleagues across RG’s personal tax team and specialises in providing accounts and tax services for trusts.
Alongside her work at RG, Emma is branch chair of the North East England branch of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and Association of Taxation Technicians, supporting the development of the tax profession across the region.
Emma said: “RG has given me opportunities to develop throughout my career, from supporting me through the ACA and CTA qualifications to enabling me to take on greater responsibility for clients and within the wider team.
“Joining the firm after completing a psychology degree meant I was beginning a completely new professional journey, but I have received tremendous encouragement and guidance from colleagues at every stage.
“I’m very proud to become a senior manager and look forward to continuing to support our clients, develop my specialist knowledge and help colleagues build their own careers with RG.”
Peter Glenton, partner at RG, added: “Emma has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to her professional development since joining RG and has become a highly respected member of the firm.
“Achieving both the ACA and CTA qualifications is a significant accomplishment, and Emma has combined that technical expertise with an excellent understanding of her clients and the issues that matter to them.
“She has also grown into an important leadership role within the firm and contributes to the wider profession through her position as branch chair.
“Emma’s journey from assistant to senior manager demonstrates both her ability and the career progression available to talented people at RG, and this promotion is thoroughly deserved.”
