British entrepreneur takes virtual office venture across the Atlantic with Wall Street flagship

A British entrepreneur is taking his virtual office business to the heart of New York after opening a new flagship location on Wall Street.

Brad Kellard, chief marketing officer at global virtual office provider YoursVirtually.com, is behind the company's latest push across the Atlantic, with a new address on Wall Street in Manhattan's Financial District.

The location, inside the landmark Trump Building, will allow businesses and individuals in the UK and elsewhere to establish a presence in New York without having to take on a conventional office in the city.

Customers can set up their New York presence remotely through YoursVirtually.com, with services including a Wall Street business address, mail handling, virtual receptionist support and virtual assistants.

The move comes as more British businesses look beyond their home market while continuing to embrace remote and flexible ways of working.

For entrepreneurs who want to test the US market, work with American customers or present their business internationally, establishing a New York presence would traditionally have meant taking office space and building an operation on the ground.

Yours Virtually is betting that increasingly, it won't.

Kellard, a British entrepreneur who has built and operated businesses in the UK and internationally, believes technology is continuing to loosen the link between where a company is based and where its people actually live and work.

He recently told Talking Business that the company's philosophy is that where someone lives should not limit where they are able to do business.

The new Wall Street location is perhaps the clearest expression of that idea yet, giving a business thousands of miles away the ability to establish a professional presence in one of the world's most recognisable commercial districts.

Kellard said: "Opening on Wall Street is an important milestone for Yours Virtually. We've always believed that where you live shouldn't limit where you can do business, and this location gives our clients around the world the opportunity to establish a genuine New York presence almost instantly.

"It's a major step for us as we continue expanding our network and making it easier for people to live and work freely, wherever they choose."

The company already provides virtual office services to tens of thousands of customers internationally, with its teams managing functions traditionally associated with a physical office, from handling post and answering telephone calls to providing administrative support.

Its customer base includes entrepreneurs, international companies, remote businesses and individuals who need a professional presence in locations where they may not physically be based.

For British firms in particular, the New York opening provides another route into the US without the expense normally associated with establishing an American office.

And while London and New York have long been two of the world's major business centres, the growth of remote working means having a presence in both no longer necessarily means having employees sitting behind desks in both.

For Yours Virtually, the move into the Big Apple is also part of a much bigger expansion plan.

The company is continuing to add locations to its international network and expand the services available through its online platform, with the long-term ambition of becoming the world's largest independently owned and operated virtual office company.

The opening at 40 Wall Street puts one of its most prominent locations yet at the centre of New York's financial district - and marks another step in taking a British-led business concept increasingly global.
