Survey X plots growth with contract wins
A Yorkshire ground survey specialist has secured a raft of new contracts as it looks to expand its footprint across the UK.
Wakefield-based Survey X (UK), which launched earlier this summer, has won work spanning Twycross Zoo in Leicestershire, RSPB Fairburn Ings Nature Reserve in West Yorkshire and Huddersfield Bus Station.
At Twycross Zoo, the firm is investigating drainage problems at The Bungalow residential lodge, inspecting chambers and mapping drainage routes before providing recommendations for remedial work.
Survey X is also carrying out CCTV investigation and survey work on two drainage culverts at Fairburn Ings, remotely inspecting sections to assess their condition and future maintenance requirements while taking account of the sensitive wildlife setting.
And in Huddersfield, the company is undertaking drainage cleansing and a CCTV survey of the underground pipe network at the town’s bus station.
The work will help establish its condition and identify potential maintenance or repairs to support Kirklees Council’s planned £27 million redevelopment of the site.
Joe Walshaw, project manager at Survey X, said: “We are delighted to have won these contracts as we start to gather momentum following the launch of the business.
“They underscore our commitment to delivering exceptional, rapid and highly effective services to key market sectors.
“With today’s AI and internet powered technologies, we see a huge opportunity to transform ground exploration and survey work – making it easier, faster, and more precise than ever before.
“Our team will focus on developing techniques and applications that can identify rapid solutions, helping companies, consultants and sub-contractors plan and build more safely.”
Survey X provides sub-surface survey and inspection services for the civil and geoenvironmental engineering, construction and estates management sectors.
Its services include topographical and utility surveys, ground penetrating radar, CCTV surveys and 3D scanning.
