Atlas Copco Rental appoints offshore engineer

Temporary utility solutions provider Atlas Copco Rental UK and Ireland has appointed Nik Mann as offshore sales engineer as it responds to growth in the offshore sector.

Based at the company’s Dundee facility, Nik brings 15 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry and previously worked as an offshore field service engineer at Atlas Copco Rental.

He has also held a sales role within the compressed air industry and is a time-served mechanical fitter with an HNC in mechanical engineering.

In his new role, Nik will combine his technical, commercial and industry experience to support customers throughout the rental process, from initial enquiry through to project completion.

Nik said: “It’s been great to rejoin the company and work back alongside former colleagues. 

“The team has a depth of expertise, having worked in offshore for decades, and we have our dedicated centre for offshore here in Dundee which means we can readily access utilities to provide our customers with the best solution. 

“I’ve been working in the industry since leaving school, so I’ve been witness to and a part of the numerous advances that have shaped offshore in recent years and I have a strong understanding of the challenges faced by our customers. 

“So, in this position I can be a reliable point of contact to take customers through their journey with us.”

Nik’s appointment follows the recent arrivals of Byrone Thorne as sales and business development manager and David Walker as operations manager.

The expanded team will support Atlas Copco Rental’s plans to grow its UK and Ireland rental division, including its provision of temporary compressed air, nitrogen, power and specialised subsea cleaning equipment for offshore projects.
