Coach operator maps out 2027 expansion plans

A North East coach holiday operator has expanded its programme of tours across Britain and Ireland.

Primrose Holidays, which specialises in trips for older travellers across Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and County Durham, has launched its 2027 brochure featuring day trips and multi-night breaks.

The programme includes destinations across England, Scotland, Wales, the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, with its Romantic Journeys of Scotland and ABBA Voyage tours returning following customer demand.

Primrose Holidays launched earlier this year with a focus on making travel easier for older customers, offering a door-to-door transfer service for overnight holidays across parts of South Northumberland, Tyne and Wear and County Durham.

The independent operator says its itineraries are designed around comfort and convenience, with hotels, attractions and destinations selected to provide a relaxed travel experience.

Shaun Read, owner of Primrose Holidays, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be launching our 2027 collection and building on what has been a fantastic start for Primrose Holidays.

“We’ve listened closely to feedback from our customers around the destinations and experiences they want to enjoy, which has helped us shape a programme that offers something for everyone.

“By adding new experiences across Britain and Ireland and bringing back the most popular tours from 2026, our aim is to give our customers the opportunity to discover somewhere new, without having to worry about the logistics that can make travelling feel like a chore.

“We want every holiday to feel enjoyable and stress-free from the moment customers leave their front door.”

Further day trips are set to be announced later this year, including Christmas markets and heritage destinations, with customers able to travel from six coach pick-up points across the North East.

The expanded programme comes as Primrose looks to build on its first year of operations and attract more over-55s seeking organised holidays without the planning, driving and luggage demands of independent travel.
