Executive Association Solent names new chair

South coast business network Executive Association Solent has appointed Chrissy Forder as its 36th chair as it enters its 37th year.

Chrissy, a director at Whiteley-based IT provider Southern Solutions, succeeds Matt Thomas of Poole-based Clerica AI following the association’s annual chain-of-office handover.

Business leader and entrepreneur Simon Hawtrey-Coombs has been appointed vice-chair.

Chrissy said: “The Executive Association Solent provides a reassuring space for directors to talk openly about the challenges and opportunities of running a business, with insights, tips and guidance provided in the networking luncheons we hold 11 times a year.

“Each attendee also stands up for to speak about the latest trends and issues in their sectors – we learn a lot from one another this way.

“What is clear from over the years of being a member is just how much support there is from this vibrant business network – a network that has weathered economic storms from the global financial crash and Brexit to the pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis.”

Founded in 1989, the not-for-profit association brings together more than 30 companies from across Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire to share expertise and support directors in running their businesses.

Members meet for monthly networking luncheons at Chewton Glen Hotel & Spa in the New Forest, which has hosted every gathering since the association was established.

The latest event marked its 404th luncheon and featured keynote speaker Chris Croft, who shared advice on project and time management with members.

Stuart Percival, the association’s president, added: “Chrissy and Simon will be building on Matt’s great work in taking the association, which has stood strong over four decades, to the next level.”
