Record entries ignite Dynamites Awards

A record number of entries have been received for a North East technology awards programme.

The Dynamites Awards 2026 shortlist features finalists across 14 categories, celebrating achievements in areas including artificial intelligence, data, skills, international growth and technology for social good.

Organised by technology membership organisation Dynamo North East, the awards will take place at Newcastle Civic Centre on Thursday, November 12, with 450 guests expected to attend.

David Dunn, chief executive of Dynamo North East, said: “The record number of submissions reflects the talent and ambition across the North East.

“These awards give us an opportunity to celebrate that achievement together and show what our region can do.

“We are stronger and more united when we speak with one voice.

“We want the benefits of technology to reach more people.

“Every ticket purchased will contribute towards tackling digital exclusion, connecting the sector’s success with support for our wider communities.”

The event is backed by headline sponsor Accenture UK & Ireland, alongside a number of other partners.

Public voting is also open for the People’s Choice award, while a percentage of ticket sales will support the Dynamo Digital Inclusion Fund, helping more people across the region access and benefit from digital technology.

Helen Faulds, chief information officer at Cora Health and chair of the 2026 Dynamites Awards judging panel, added: “A record number of submissions made this an especially competitive year.

“Congratulations to all the finalists.

“It has been a privilege to chair the judging panel and work alongside fellow volunteers who brought such care and commitment to assessing each entry.”

David Darlington, associate director of Accenture UK & Ireland, added: “We are proud to continue supporting the Dynamites Awards and celebrate the North East’s technology talent.

“Congratulations to all finalists, as well as those nominated, whose achievements show the strength and ambition of our region.”

Voting for the People’s Choice award is open to the public until 4pm on October 16, with the winner announced at the ceremony. Votes can be submitted here.
