Accountancy firm expands with Parkins move
An accounting and business advisory firm has expanded.
SMH Group has added Parkins to its portfolio.
Bosses say the move for the accountancy firm, based in Wickersley, on the outskirts of Rotherham, leaves it “better placed to support businesses and individuals with a broader range of expertise”.
They add staff have been retained, with the business operating under the SMH Parkins brand.
Founded as Sutton McGrath Hartley in the mid-1990s, SMH Group provides services including audit and assurance, corporate finance and wills and probate from offices across Yorkshire and Derbyshire.
Its stable includes Rotherham-based SMH Haywoods, Buxton’s SMH Bullock Woodburn, SMH Sheards, in Huddersfield, and SMH Mitchells, in Chesterfield.
Jonathon Dickens, SMH Group chief executive, said: “Parkins has a strong local reputation and shares our commitment to providing clear advice and dependable support.
“Rotherham is an important part of our regional presence, and this merger further strengthens our position within the local community.
“With two offices now in Rotherham, we are better placed to support both businesses and individuals.”
Rob Parkin, partner at Parkins, added: “Joining SMH Group is a positive step for our firm and our clients.
“It allows us to retain the personal service and relationships we have built over many years, while gaining access to broader expertise and additional resources.”
SMH Group was supported on the deal by Cortus and CMP Legal, with MD Law acting for Parkins.
