Hospice celebrates ‘groundbreaking’ deal
A Teesside company has pledged £25,000 a year to support end-of-life care for patients and families across the region.
Cleveland Cable has become Teesside Hospice’s first-ever Pioneer Partner, strengthening a relationship spanning more than a decade.
The annual donation will fund more than 900 hours of specialist nursing care at the charity’s ten-bed inpatient unit, helping provide comfort, dignity and support to people receiving end-of-life care.
The partnership builds on more than ten years of involvement with the hospice, including eight consecutive years of financial contributions.
Bosses say the new commitment represents a significant step in the company’s ongoing support for the charity and the wider Teesside community.
Glynn Bartliff, renewable energy and BESS strategic account manager at Cleveland Cable, said: “We’re incredibly proud to become Teesside Hospice’s first-ever Pioneer Partner, strengthening a relationship that has meant a great deal to us for many years.
“Taking part in the Italian Job Rally earlier this year was a fantastic experience and a real reminder of the difference the Hospice makes across our community.
“We’re looking forward to continuing to build on this partnership and supporting its vital work for years to come.”
Justine Cook, company secretary at Cleveland Cable, added: “Teesside Hospice holds a very special place in our hearts.
“We’ve seen first-hand the care, compassion and support it provides, with one of our own colleagues having benefited from its services.
“Becoming their first Pioneer Partner means a great deal to us and reflects our commitment to helping ensure the Hospice can continue to be there for local people and their families at some of the most difficult times in their lives.”
Hassan Hameed, corporate partnerships manager at Teesside Hospice, added: “I’m overjoyed by the continued support of Cleveland Cable and their staff.
“We support around 4000 people across Teesside each year, at a cost of around £7.5 million per year, and that just wouldn’t be possible without this kind of support from local businesses.
“This groundbreaking partnership with Cleveland Cable Company sees them become the first Pioneer Partner of Teesside Hospice and cements their commitment to Teesside Hospice.”
