Contractor hails city housing scheme landmark
A building contractor has hailed a project milestone.
Compass Developments says it has completed the external envelope of the first cluster of 18 houses at a Sunderland scheme.
Cramlington-based Compass Developments was previously appointed by Igloo Regeneration to deliver 34 homes within the Vaux neighbourhood on the wider Riverside Sunderland development.
The first phase is expected to complete early next year.
Stephen O’Neill, Compass Developments director, said: “These homes set new benchmarks for sustainable, healthy, attractive and future-ready living.
“Completing the external envelope to achieve weathertightness is a significant stage of the development and we’re well on track to complete our work next year.”
Michelle Williams, project director at national operator Igloo Regeneration, added: “Reaching this stage is an important milestone for the Vaux neighbourhood and a visible sign of the progress being made at Riverside Sunderland.”
