Avison Young strengthens Birmingham team
Global commercial real estate adviser Avison Young has strengthened its Birmingham team with two senior appointments as it expands its property management services across the Midlands and South West.
Emily Filer joins as director and regional head of Midlands and South West, bringing extensive experience across the commercial property sector.
She has previously held roles at Gowling WLG, CBRE, Lambert Smith Hampton and St Modwen, developing expertise in property management and regional market operations.
Emily said: “Avison Young has built an outstanding reputation for delivering best-in-class real estate management services and creating long-term value for clients.
“The strength of the team, the quality of the client base and the collaborative culture were all clear to me from the outset.
“The Midlands and South West continue to see significant investment and transformation, creating exciting opportunities for owners, occupiers and investors alike.
“With strong momentum already behind the business and an impressive pipeline of new instructions, I’m looking forward to working with colleagues across the region to drive further growth.”
Emily is joined by Jenny Hemstock, who has been appointed director within the firm's real estate management team.
Jenny brings 14 years' experience at JLL, where she worked across a range of commercial property management projects.
Jenny added: “This is an exciting time to be joining Avison Young.
“The business has a strong presence across the Midlands region and is trusted to manage some of the most high-profile and complex assets in the market.
“I’m looking forward to bringing my experience to the team, working closely with clients and helping to ensure their assets are performing at their full potential while creating positive experiences for occupiers and visitors alike.”
In their new roles, the pair will oversee and support property management instructions across the region, including Birmingham’s Typhoo Wharf mixed-use redevelopment, which Avison Young was appointed to manage earlier this year.
Their appointments form part of the firm’s continued investment in its regional real estate management operations, strengthening its capacity to support clients and develop its presence across the Midlands, South West and beyond.
Guy Thompson, principal, real estate, facilities and infrastructure management at Avison Young, added: “The addition of Emily and Jenny to our real estate management delivery team is central to our strategy of managing prestigious assets for our long-standing clients, as well as new clients that we are currently onboarding.
“Our approach is to always ensure that we’re providing access to highly experienced and knowledgeable experts that totally understand the expectations of today’s discerning occupiers.
“Through the appointment of Emily and Jenny as directors, we’re in a brilliant position to provide our clients with even greater confidence and expert consultancy in the ever-evolving property and estate management environment.”
