BDO strengthens Scottish tax team

Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has strengthened its Scottish tax team with the appointment of Angela Banerjee as tax director.

Angela brings more than 15 years’ experience across several advisory firms, specialising in research and development (R&D) tax relief and innovation-related tax incentives.

She also has expertise in the Patent Box regime, which enables eligible businesses to benefit from a reduced effective corporation tax rate of ten per cent on qualifying profits generated from patented inventions.

In her new role, Angela will work within BDO’s Scottish incentives tax team, advising businesses investing in research and development and generating income from intellectual property.

Angela’s appointment will enhance the firm’s specialist support for innovative companies seeking to understand and access available tax reliefs.

Angela will work across BDO’s Scottish offices, where the firm employs approximately 200 people.
