NHBC appoints portfolio management chief
New home warranty and insurance provider NHBC has strengthened its senior team with the appointment of Caroline Eyre as head of portfolio management.
Caroline joins the UK’s largest provider of new home warranties and insurance in a newly created role, bringing more than 20 years’ experience in construction insurance.
With a background in civil engineering, she has held senior positions across major international insurers, Lloyd’s syndicates and specialist insurance businesses.
She joins from Allied World, where she served as vice president, having previously held senior underwriting roles at Aviva, including deputy chief underwriting officer for specialty lines and head of construction and latent defects insurance.
Her career also includes leadership positions at CNA Hardy, Zurich and SCOR.
Alongside her insurance career, Caroline served for more than 15 years in the Reserve Forces, reaching the rank of major in the Royal Engineers.
In her new role, she will oversee NHBC’s underwriting portfolio, ensuring the organisation's risk appetite and strategy are reflected in its portfolio management decisions.
Caroline said: “I’m excited to be joining NHBC and look forward to helping strengthen its role in the delivery of high-quality homes and supporting the wider home-building industry.
“I’m committed to developing people and improving performance and will be applying my wide industry experience to drive profitability and reduce risk.”
Peter Vasey, chief underwriting officer at NHBC, added: “We’re pleased to welcome Caroline to NHBC.
“Her combination of construction and insurance expertise, strategic leadership experience and strong understanding of risk makes her an excellent addition to our senior leadership team.
“Caroline has previously been recognised by the Women in Insurance Awards, proof of her of her considerable skills and commitment.”
